Understanding learning disabilities and ADHD

Whether you’ve recently received a diagnosis, suspect on, or want to support someone who has - start here.

What is a learning disability

A learning disability is a difference in how a person's brain processes information. People with LDs have average or above-average intelligence — but their brains take a different route to reading, writing, math, or organization.

Learning disabilities aren't outgrown, and they aren't caused by lack of effort. They're lifelong differences that, with the right support, don't have to define what someone can do.
