Learning Disabilities Association of Manitoba provides programming, support and advocacy for individuals impacted by learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders.
To empower and foster self-worth and independence for Manitobans living with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders.
The RIGHT to learn,
the POWER to achieve.
Learning Disabilities Association of Manitoba (LDAM) was founded in 1966 as The Manitoba Association for Children with Learning Disabilities (MACLD) by concerned parents. It was established as an affiliate of the national organization, the Canadian Association for Children with Learning Disabilities. MACLD was incorporated in 1972. In 1986, our name officially changed to Learning Disabilities Association of Manitoba.
Throughout our long history of working with Manitobans, we have primarily acted as a referral agency. Increasing the awareness of learning disabilities is through conferences, workshops, and speakers’ bureau.
Other projects implemented by LDAM seek to meet the specific needs of learning disabled children and adults. LDAM encourages advocacy for the rights of learned disabled individuals.
